Thomas Venn Heath

Thomas Venn Heath, 73, of Long Pond, PA, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

The son of Clarence C. Heath and Faye N. (Venn) Heath, and he was born April 14, 1952. Tom graduated from Southern Columbia High School in 1969 where he played catcher on the baseball team for 4 years. He also belonged to the Primitive Methodist Church of Shamokin where he sang in the choir. After high school, Tom graduated from Bloomsburg State University in 1973. He then taught middle school Science in Easton until he retired.

Tom enjoyed combining his love of driving with his trips to Montana where he appreciated the great outdoors. Maine was another favorite spot where he won the family contest by eating a 4-lb lobsta. Other pastimes were camping, playing pinacol and poker. Tom had a large garden and made pickles along with award winning jelly which he shared with his family and sent to out of state nieces and nephews. An avid Penn State football fan, he attended many home games.

Family was important to him, attending family gatherings for holidays, birthdays, and other special occasions. Weekly extended family picnics to World’s End and vacations to the Jersey Shore were also a highlight for the entire family.

Survivors include his son, Thomas Charles Heath, his siblings Cynthia Lee Butos (William), Robert Charles Heath (Debra), Karen Ann Heath, James Edward Heath (Judy); six nephews and nieces; nine grand nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Thomas Venn Heath, 73, of Long Pond - A Celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 22, with the Rev. James E. Heath officiating, at Farrow-Campbell Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 240 West Chestnut Street, Shamokin, Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will be at a later time at the discretion of the family.
