Sylvester Walter Kulonda

Coal Township – Sylvester Kulonda, 78, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Coal Township.

Born in Shamokin, December 17, 1945, he was the son of the late Walter and Phyllis (Worhacz) Kulonda. Sylvester was a Shamokin High School graduate. He was employed by the Shamokin Police Department, as a 911 dispatcher and then later Northumberland County.

On February 21,1982, in Salem Reform Church, Coal Township, he married, Carol Dinklocker, who survives.

Sylvester was a member of the Shamokin Rescue Squad, Independence Fire Company where he served as President, EMT for the Elysburg Fire Company, EMT for the Mt. Carmel Fire Company, Danville Ambulance Service, and the Shamokin Fire Police.

In addition to his wife, Sylvester is survived by two daughters, Lisa Witcoskie and her husband Tim of Paxinos, Kelly Olsen and her husband Chad of AL; three grandsons, Alex Witcoskie and his fiancé Evelyn of Millville, Cody Olsen of GA, and Timmy Witcoskie of VA; one great-granddaughter, Zoee Witcoskie; one goddaughter, Brianna Hine; two brothers-in-law, Eugene Dinklocker of Mt. Carmel, Ronnie Dinklocker and his wife Susan of Coal Township; three sisters-in-law, Sharon Hile of Milton, Christine Dinklocker of Coal Township, Debra Dinklocker of Mt. Carmel; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sylvester Kulonda, 78, of Coal Township – A celebration of life will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM at The Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Second & Arch Streets, Shamokin, PA 17872. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Arrangements are being cared for by Farrow-Campbell Funeral & Cremation Service, 240 W Chestnut Street, Shamokin, Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor.
