Sadie L. (Keefer) Feese

SHAMOKIN-Sadie L. Feese, 89, of 2209 Trevorton Road, Coal Township, passed away on February 16 2022, at Geisinger Medical Center in Shamokin.

She was born in Gowen City on July 23, 1932 to the late Charles and Alice (Henninger) Keefer. Sadie graduated from Trevorton High School in 1950.

On September 27, 1952, she married Wayne “Joe” Feese, who preceded her in death. Sadie was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, where she was the organist for over 20 years.

A Christian since childhood, she spoke freely of her Lord and Savior to anyone who would listen.

Sadie worked alongside her husband at Feese Sales and continued to do so after his death, until the store closed. She enjoyed greeting the customers as they came through the door, long before it was the ‘thing to do’. Her sense of humor, laughter and ability to connect with people were her hallmark strengths.

Her grandchildren enjoyed summer vacations and fun adventures with her. Her great-grandchildren loved her dearly and affectionately called her “Great White Grandma,” and she taught them all the pleasure of chocolate ice cream and pretzel sticks.

Sadie is survived by two daughters, Barbara Feese of Coal Township, and Susan Roehrich and her husband Thomas of Virginia; four grandchildren, Rebecca Vincent and her husband Nicholas of Virginia, Matthew Roehrich of Georgia, Sarah Keefer and her husband Brian of California, and Rachel Lavoie and her husband John of Virginia; three great-granddaughters, Emma, Audrey, and Sadie; four great-grandsons, Cade, Zane, Samuel, and Rhett; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with her parents and husband, Sadie is preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Keefer, Grant Keefer, and Guy Keefer; three sisters, Grace Keefer, Reberda Keefer, and Edna Reigel.

Sadie L. Feese, 89, of 2209 Trevorton Road, Coal Township- Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 21, 2022 at 12:00 pm with Pastor David Butler officiating, Viewing will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service at Farrow-C.J. Lucas Funeral and Cremation Service, 240 West Chestnut Street, Shamokin, PA, Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor. Burial will be held following the service at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Coal Township.
