COAL TOWNSHIP - Ruth Esther Bresko, 84, a 50 year resident of Coal Township passed away with family by her side April 13, 2022 at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News Virginia, near her recent home in Hampton, Virginia.
Ruth was born December 10, 1937, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico., she was the daughter of the late Manuel Torres Garcia and Esmeralda Baez Quiñones. She was a graduate of Ramirez College, Puerto Rico. Ruth married Robert Bresko in Niagara Falls, New York. Together they enjoyed a marriage of 59 years. In Shamokin, Ruth was a proud member of the Mountainside Assembly of God in Coal Township, Pennsylvania. Ruth was a homemaker and enjoyed volunteering in her spare time with the PTA, where she received her PTA Life Membership in 1977 and received a Life Achievement Award in 1991. Ruth enjoyed crocheting, reading, traveling, crafting, spending time with her family, and the women's church group. Those who had the privilege of knowing Ruth will remember her smile, loving heart and honesty. Her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were blessed to love her.
Ruth is survived by her husband Robert Bresko, her five children, Lynne Buggy and her husband Otis of Virginia; Karen Bresko of Virginia; Evelyn Abromitis and her husband John of Florida; Robert Bresko Jr. of Pennsylvania, and Andrew Bresko of Maryland; seven grandchildren Marissa, Justin, Krysta, Zachary and his spouse Megan, John, Tamara, Skyler; two great-grandchildren, Kingston and Theo, and her brother Victor Torres of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Ruben Torres and a granddaughter, Brittany.
FUNERAL NOTICE
Ruth E. Bresko, 84, of Coal Township – Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 12:30 pm at the Mountainside Assembly of God Church, Coal Township. Burial will be held following the service at Northumberland Memorial Park, Sunbury. Viewing will be held prior to the service from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm at the church.
