Robert K. Nairns

Sunbury – Robert K. Nairns, 82, of Genesis (Old Manor Care), passed away January 11, 2023.

Born in Shamokin on March 29, 1940 to the late Russell and Bertha (Wanke) Nairns. He graduated from Shamokin High School in 1958. He served in the United States Air Force from 1960 – 1964 during the Vietnam war. He then went on to work as a laborer at Ceco Steel Mill and he retired from there at 69.

He married Mary Ann Blazike, who preceded him in death in 2005. He was a member of the Shamokin Model Railroad Club, and the American Legion. He attended Grace Lutheran Church in Shamokin.

Robert is survived by a son, Robert R. Nairns and his fiancé, Terra Hartsworm of Middleburg; two grandsons, Thomas R. Nairns of Litiz, and Brandon M. Nairns and his wife, Kellie of Mount Carmel; a great grandson, Brandon M. Nairns Jr.; and a cousin, Robert Young and his wife, Eileen of Harrisburg. Robert was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Robert K. Nairns, 82, of Genesis (Old Manor Care) – Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 11:00 am with Pastor Sarah Hershberger at Farrow-C.J. Lucas Funeral and Cremation Service, 240 W Chestnut Street, Shamokin, Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor. Viewing will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service.
