Mount Carmel – Richard M. Miller, 84, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Mount Carmel Nursing Home, where he resided for the past 7 years.

Born in Shamokin on May 9, 1936 he was the son of the late Lamar and Dorothy (Morris) Miller. He graduated from Shamokin High School.

On April 30, 1955 in Shamokin, Richard married Joan Bowers, who preceded him in death.

Richard loved camping, vacations, going on cruises, gardening, and spending time with his family.

Richard is surivived by a daughter, Ruth Grego and John Young of Coal Township; son-in-law, Greg Yocum of Paxinos; two grandsons, Edward Grego and his wife, Natalie of Coal Township, and Michael Yocum and his wife, Ashley of MI; two granddaughters, Shelle Grego of Overlook, and Andrena Chappel and her husband, Jon of CA;  four great grandsons, Edward Grego, Evan Grego, Parker Yocum, and Noah Yocum; two great granddaughters, Laura Grego, and Amelia Chappel; a new great granddaughter on the way; brother, Paul Whary; and two sisters, Jayne Lenig, and Judy Neumeister. In addition to his wife and parents, Richard was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Yocum; and several brothers.
