Raymond Francis Topolski

Coal Township – Raymond F. Topolski, 83, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023 in his home.

Born in Ranshaw on January 7, 1940 he was the son of the late John and Helen (Covoleskie) Topolski. He graduated from Coal Township High School in 1957.

On April 28, 1962 in St. Stevens Church, Shamokin, he married Patricia Smoogen, who preceded him in death on February 27, 2013. Together they shared 50 years of marriage.

He served in the United States Marine Corps, 2nd Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 1957 - 1960. He retired after 32 years from being a Pennsylvania State Police Officer. Raymond was Vice Commandant of the Black Diamond Marine Corp. League.  He was a member of Mother Cabrini Church.

Raymond is survived by a son, Raymond Topolski and his wife, Bonnie of Shamokin; and a daughter, Cathy Rivera and her husband, Eduardo, and Eduardo’s daughter, Kristen Rivera of Coal Township; Two grandsons, Matthew Topolski and his fiancé, Kristen, and Billy Stump and his wife, Amanda Cavanaugh; two granddaughters, Jenna Healey and her husband, Dave, and Danielle Stump and her partner, Ryan McCormick; three great grandsons, Nathan Beaulieu, Kayden Healey, and Connor Healey; two great granddaughters, Hailey Snyder, and Karley McCormick; two sisters, Marcia Lawrence, and Jeanette Burba; a sister-in-law, Marian Smoogen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his wife and parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Harriet (Druzdowski) Smoogen; two brothers, John Topolski, and Colin Topolski and his wife, Barbara; two sisters, Rose Marie Reynolds and her husband, Renn, and Carole Topolski; and two brothers-in-law, Jay Lawrence, and Robert Burba.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Raymond Topolski, 83, Coal Township – Graveside Services will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 at 11:00 am with Deacon Robert Wislock, officiating at All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Arrangements are being cared for by Farrow-C.J. Lucas Funeral and Cremation Service, 240 W Chestnut Street, Shamokin, Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor.
