Paxinos – Margaret “Peggy” L. Grow, 92, of 107 Marley Road, passed away March 15, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she was born on December 30, 1928 in Mount Carmel, PA. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Mather) Welker. She graduated from Shamokin High School in 1946 and worked in the family business, Welker’s Furniture Store in Shamokin, until she retired.
On September 18, 1957 she was married in St. John’s United Church of Christ, Shamokin to Harold E. Grow, who preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Masons.
Peggy was an avid gardener and loved to bake, cook family meals and decorate for the holidays. She was always collecting recipes and searching for the best chocolate cake recipe and her family looked forward to her delicious peanut butter eggs each Easter. A very proud grandma, she enjoyed attending her grandson Tyler’s sporting events, cheering him on at many soccer, football and baseball games over the years.
Peggy is survived by a daughter, Pamela Keiser and her husband, Nick of Paxinos; a grandson, Tyler Keiser of Paxinos; a brother-in-law, Sidney Gass of Paxinos; two nephews, Joseph Gass of Harrisburg and Michael Obranovich of Florida; two nieces, Stephanie Jankowski of Maryland and Robin Schultheis of South Carlina; a great niece, Michelle Gass of Emsworth and her beloved dog, Matty. In addition to her husband and parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Francis and Florence (Mattern) Grow; and two sisters, Dotty Gass; and Betty Obranovich and her husband, Michael.
FUNERAL NOTICE
Margaret “Peggy” L. Grow, 92, of 107 Marley Road, Paxinos – Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Blue Church Cemetery, in Paxinos. Arrangements are being cared for by Farrow-C.J. Lucas Funeral and Cremation Service, 240 W Chestnut Street, Shamokin, Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor.
