Linda A (Gable) West

SHAMOKIN – Linda A. West, 68, of 34 E Lincoln Street, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born in Shamokin on January 5, 1954 she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ann (Wardrop) Gable. She graduated from Shamokin High School.

Altruistic, stylish, and full of spunk - Linda made her presence known. She was deeply committed to her family and always made those around her feel like the most important people in the world. Linda had a flair for cooking and for interior design, and she loved to share those gifts with her family. Linda believed that if you look good then you feel good, and she always looked her best with impeccable style for every occasion.

On October 21, 1977, she married Walter R. West, who survives, together they shared 44 years of marriage.  She worked at American Home Foods, and she was a bartender at the West End Fire Company in Coal Township.

In addition to her husband, Linda is survived by a son, Thomas Anzulavich and his wife, Kristie of Turbotville; a daughter, Kelly Dye and her husband, Jason of Lewisburg; two grandsons, Gage Anzulavich, and Kade Anzulavich; a granddaughter, Ainsley Anzulavich; a sister, Penny Balavage of Trevorton; a brother, Andy Gable and his wife, Darla of Sunbury; a sister-in-law, Joy Bennett of Coal Township; a brother-in-law, William West of Milton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Gable; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Katherine (Lunger) West; and a brother-in-law, Cyrus Bennett.

Linda A. West, 68, of 34 E Lincoln Street, Shamokin – Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 25, 2022 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Robert Stoudt, officiating at Farrow-C.J. Lucas Funeral and Cremation Service, 240 W Chestnut Street, Shamokin, Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM.
