Leanna Ivaughn Derk

Shamokin – Leanna Ivaughn Derk, 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep into the arms of her Savior on January 4, 2021. Formerly of 1102 N Franklin Street, Shamokin, she resided at Manor Care North, Williamsport.

Born on April 9, 1929, she was the daughter of Frederick and Ada (Heim) Derk.

She was proceeded in death by three brothers and seven sisters, and is survived by nieces, nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.

She worked at Shroyer’s Dress Factory until she retired and then worked summers at Knoebels. She graduated from Shamokin High School in 1946 and was active in the Coal Crackers Club for many years. She was a member of the Shamokin Christian and Missionary Alliance Church for her entire life where she taught Sunday School for many years. She voted in every presidential election in her lifetime except for 2020. She loved her Church, family, and country.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Leanna Ivaughn Derk, 91, formerly of 1102 N Franklin Street, Shamokin – Funeral services will be held Friday, January 8, 2021 at 11:00 am with Pastor Samuel Bellavia, officiating at Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 46 N 2nd Street, Shamokin. Viewing will be held in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church prior the service from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Burial will be held following the service at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Coal Township.  Arrangements are being cared for by Farrow-C.J. Lucas Funeral and Cremation Service, 240 W Chestnut Street, Shamokin, Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Farrow-C.J. Lucas Funeral and Cremation Service, 240 W Chestnut Street, Shamokin, 17872 to defray funeral costs.
