Joseph C Sock

Shamokin- Joseph C. Sock Jr., 72, of 455 Airport Road, went home to be with his Lord peacefully on August 16, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Shamokin.

Born in Shamokin on December 23, 1948, he was the son of the late Joseph C. Sock Sr. and Eunice Hall. He graduated from Shamokin Area High School in 1966, then continued his education at I.B.E.W Local 607 as an apprentice electrician. Joseph went on to work for the I.B.E.W Local 607, as an electrician.  He also attended Tennessee University to obtain his teaching credits, allowing him to teach the same apprenticeship program he attended.  Joseph later retired in 2011.

Joe loved sitting on his porch, talking for hours about family and friends that he met through the years. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Joe is survived by his wife, Jessica E. Sock, Shamokin; two sons, Jeffrey D. Sock and his wife Crystal Sock, Hughesville, Jason Sock, Shamokin; two granddaughters, Cameryn Sock and Emily Showers; one grandson, Jacob Showers; two sisters, Mary Wiest and her husband Kenneth of Lititz, who will be officiating the service, Betty Bogush and her husband Mike, Bloomsburg; three sister-in-law’s, Dorothy Miller and her husband David, Florida, Terri Krieger, Frackville, Violet Krieger, Shamokin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his son, Justin Joseph Sock; father-in-law and mother in-law, George H. and Emma (Leiser) Krieger; two sisters, Helen Jackson and Susan Foulds; three brother-in-law’s, William Krieger, Richard Krieger and his wife Nancy, and Clayton Krieger.

Joseph C. Sock Jr., 72, of 455 Airport Road, Shamokin- Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements will be cared for by Farrow C.J.
