Joseph Pinamonti Jr.

December 23, 1958 — March 25, 2021

Elysburg – While the quote, “only the good die young” may seem cliché, a statement truer could not exist for Joseph Pinamonti Jr. who passed on to a better place on March 25, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville with his wife and daughter, Jordan, at his side. There are many words that could be used to describe and commemorate Joe, but good – truly good- falls within the parameters of each description.

He was born on December 23, 1958, the only child of the late Joseph Sr. and Martha (Romanoski) Pinamonti. He lived his 62 years on his family farm in Elysburg and dedicated his life to unselfishly caring for his family and showing kindness, patience, and love to everyone who was lucky enough to cross his path.

Joe graduated from Southern Columbia High School in 1976. Like everything else he did, he excelled during his school years and was offered a wrestling scholarship to attend Wilkes University. However, being a family man first, he spent his post high school days working on the family farm and volunteering as a community firefighter. He later went on to spend over 20 years working at Clark’s Feed Mill. His most life impacting job was that of husband and father.

On May 14, 1983 in St. Stanislaus Church, Shamokin, Joe married the former Susan Olcese. Their union brought Joe three beautiful daughters who he taught to target shoot, drive, take care of their cars, and become strong, independent women. Daddy was their hero and they were “daddy’s girls”. Joe was always very proud of them, spending his life making sure they were taken care of and never giving up – even when walking and standing became a challenge. He was quiet and unassuming, yet one of the most intelligent and wise individuals one could meet – the kind the world should have more of. He was quick to smile, showed kindness even when it was difficult, and was a role model and inspiration to many. When the suffering of his mind and body became too great, God quickly called him home to live in peace and pain-free with an eternal view of his loved ones who will be living each day to continue to make him proud.

Joe is survived by his wife, Susan; three daughters, Stephanie (Stessie Annie) Pinamonti Main of Miami, FL, Jolyn (Boo Bear) Pinamonti of Wilmington, DE, and Jordan (Bug) Pinamonti of Elysburg, PA; a son-in-law, Oleg Main; two grandchildren, Valentina Main and Oleg Joseph Main; a grandson who is expected in September; an aunt, Rita Pinamonti; as well as many cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Eleanor Olcese; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
