John "Mike" Michael Engle

Coal Township – John “Mike” Michael Engle, 59, of Coal Township, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Shamokin on February 9, 1964 he was the son of the late Edward and Catherine (Puceta) Engle. He graduated from Shamokin Area High School in 1982.

On June 21, 1986 in Coal Township, he married Molly Sherman, who survives. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and a contractor. Mike was of Catholic faith, a life member of the Brady Fire Company, Ranshaw, and a life member of the East End Fire Company, Coal Township. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his dog, Stewie. He will be missed by many, always remembered for his infectious laugh, and beautiful smile.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by a daughter, Heidi Sisak and her husband, Dak of Ashland; a brother, Edward Engle and his wife, Sharon of Berwick; a sister, Joann Dobeck of Shamokin; a step sister, Sandy Engle and her companion, Linda; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

John Michael Engle, 59, of Coal Township – Graveside service will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Northumberland Memorial Park, Sunbury.
