John David Erdman

Coal Township – John David Erdman, 49, of Coal Township, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

Born in Shamokin on August 10, 1975 to Lawrence and Carol (Humes) Erdman. John graduated from Shamokin High School 1994.

On June 18, 2008 in Shamokin he married Deborah Shaffer, who survives. He worked as a mechanic and maintenance for Tysons Distribution Center, Quikrete, and Universal Forest Company.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his mother, Carol (Humes) Erdman; daughter, Ashley Erdman; step-son, Ryan Kelly; brother, Larry Erdman and his companion, Lori Evans of Kentucky; two sisters, Barbara Glogouski and her husband, Brian of Shingle House, and Janet Bates and her companion Steven Blass of Elysburg; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his father, John was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Helen Neitz; and paternal grandfather, Lawrence D. Erdman, Sr.
