Coal Township – Our beloved father, Job E. Seger Sr., 87, of 1742 West Chestnut Street, went to be with the Lord Wednesday September 15, 2021 at Mount Carmel Nursing Home with his loving family by his side.
Born in Shamokin January 8, 1934 he was the son of the late Melvin and Dorothy (Elliott) Seger. He attended Coal Township Schools.
On February 10, 1962 in Shamokin, he married M. Ramona Tarantino. He worked as a butcher at Clark’s Meats in Irish Valley. He also did seasonal deer processing. He bartended after retirement in his spare time at the Maine Fire Company, Homeplate and many other places. He was an avid dart shooter, winning many tournaments and trophies. He was a member of Bethel Union Chapel.
Above all he loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, he loved their visits and spending time with them.
In addition to his wife, Job is survived by two daughters, Serena Greco and her husband Daniel, Coal Township, and Stella Ida Seger, Mount Joy; two sons, Job E. Seger Jr. and his wife Tammy, Coal Township, and Jamie Seger and his wife Kerry, Shamokin; six grandsons, Nicholas Choplick and his wife Paula, Lamar Seger and his companion Nick Nowakowski, Terry Seger and his fiancé Danielle Riedel, Marquese Seger, Seth Seger, and Kenneth Britcher III and his companion Sami Faichney; six granddaughters, Dana Leffler and her husband Jaisen, Jessica Paul and her husband Charles, Danielle Greco, Jenna Wasarhelyi and her companion, Dylan Bartholomew, Georgie Britcher, and Kinsley Seger; six great grandsons, Bryson Brooks, Jachin Paul, Max Chaplick, Jaron Paul, Ryker Leffler, and Rhett Paul; four great granddaughters, Maddie Tobias, Gwen Choplick, Aubrey Seger, and Victoria Seger; one brother Jay Seger, Coal Township; two sisters, Fawn Dorkoski, Coal Towship, and Pansy Testerman, Lancaster; one niece Jody Christ, who was named after him and always remained very special, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and cousins; two very special best friends who were considered family, Davee Burns and Dennis “Tex” Ryan; and three special aids, Mary Seroski, Patricia Stadnicki, and Brittany Gallagher.
In addition to his parents, Job was preceded in death by two brothers, Dal Elliot and his wife Faye, and Judd Seger and his wife June; father-in-law and mother-in-law Generoso and Mary (Caputo) Tarantino; three brother-in-laws, John Dorkoski, Keith Testerman, and Louis P. Tarantino and his wife, Maria; four sister-in-laws, Betty Seger, Concetta DiLazzaro and her husband Gabriel, Kathryn Brennan and her husband Robert, and Stella Ida Tarantino; and a nephew who was like a son, John Dorkoski
FUNERAL NOTICE
Job E. Seger, Sr., 87, of 1742 West Chestnut Street, Coal Township – Celebration of Life will be held Thursday September 23, 2021 at 11:30 with Pastor David Butler, officiating at Bethel Union Chapel, 3449 Upper Road, Shamokin. Visitation will be held from 10:30 am until the time of service. Burial will be held following the service at Odd Fellows Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are to be made to David Butler, 702 Friedline Road, Danville, PA, 17821. Arrangements are being cared for by Farrow-C.J.
