SHAMOKIN – Joan G. Thompson, 54, of 83 East Sunbury Street, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022, atGeisinger Medical Center, Shamokin.
Born in Darby on December 28, 1967, she was the daughter of Cornelius and Joan (Mollan) Sullivan, whosurvive. She graduated from Cardinal O’Hara High School in 1985.
On November 8, 1986 in the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Joan married Joseph Thompson, who survives.
In her spare time, she enjoyed cruising with her husband and spending time with her family, especially hergrandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Joan is survived by four sons, Joseph Thompson, Jr. and his wife Kate,Eric Thompson and his wife Sara, Michael Thompson and his wife Tyann and Stephen Thompson and his wifeJess; two daughters, Joan Thompson and her partner Mike and Nicole Thompson and her partner Deven; 5grandsons, Xander, Stephen, Connor, Jensen and Oryn, seven granddaughters, Kayleigh, Joanie, Arya, Lyla,Rory, Luna and Iris; three brothers, John Sullivan, Neil Sullivan and Michael Sullivan; a sister Donna Fennimoreand a mother-in-law, Madeline Cartledge. Joan is preceded in death by a father-in-law, Robert Thompson.
