Helen A Chase

Rockville, Maryland – Helen A. Chase, 95, of 6121 Montrose Road, Rockville, Maryland, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Hebrew Home of Greater Washington in Maryland.

Born in Mount Carmel on September 29, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Hodoba) Sarisky. She graduated from Mount Carmel High School. She worked most of her life at Woolworths store in Mount Carmel, and then in Shamokin.

On January 22, 1947 at St. Johns in Mount Carmel, she married Thomas Chase. She was a member of Divine Redeemer Church, formerly Mother of Consolation Church.

Helen is survived by a daughter, Mary Ellen Smar and her husband, Eugene R Smar of Maryland; and a son, Thomas Chase and his wife, Mary of Arizona; Three Granddaughters, Christina Smar Royston and her husband, Chris Royston of Westminster, MD, Rachel Feldman and her husband, Mike Feldman of Ijamsville, MD, and Patricia Smar and her husband, Brent Darden of Durham NC; a great granddaughter, Fiona Royston; and a great grandson, John Royston. Helen was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Helen A. Chase, 95, of 6121 Montrose Road, Rockville, MD – Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 11:00 am with Father Fischer, officiating at Farrow-C.J. Lucas Funeral and Cremation Service, 240 W Chestnut Street, Shamokin, Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor. Viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:00 am – 11:00am.
