Frank "Fat" F. Yost

Coal Township

Coal Township-Frank F. “Fat” Yost, 80, went to be with the Lord on March 9th, 2022 at his home. He was born on March 16th, 1941, in Trevorton , PA. “Fats” was a loving husband to his wife, Judy A. Hostler, of 53 years. They were married on March 8th of 1969 at the Salem Church. Fats was a family man, loving father, brother, uncle, (great) grandfather, and friend. “Fats” was best known for his stuttering jokes, dancing moves (especially the ‘Twist’) and his exceptional food.

He worked at the shoe factory as a young man, and then worked for the Conrail Railroad as a laborer and cook for 20 years. He then worked as a custodian and van driver for the Shamokin School District.

“Fats” was a lifetime member of both the West End Hose Company, Engine 51, and the Fairview Gun Club. A fan of Penn State football, the eagles, and the Phillies. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends for his caring nature, humor, and his out of this world food.

“Fats” is survived by his children, Lori Fry and husband Robert, Chris Allison and wife Kathy, and his youngest, Paul Yost; his sisters-in-law Donna Sands and Janice Yost; 8 grandchildren, Keshia, Kendra, Brandon, Samantha, Sydney, Shauna, Sloane, and Stevie; 4 great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Wesley, Phillip, and his “Zachy-O”; and many, many nieces and nephews; and his brother Ralph Yost and wife Doreen, sister Hilda and husband Lee Dunkleberger.

Preceding him in death was his son, Frank F. “Taz” Yost Jr., whom he lost on March 10th, 1990; his parents Beatrice and William Yost; brothers Bill, Theodore (Ding), Jack, and Elly; sister, Betty; sisters-in-law Daisy Yost, Sandy Pawelczyk and her husband Danny, and Teeny Yost; brothers-in-law Mick Shingara and David Hostler; mother-in-law Gertrude Hostler; and his beloved dog, Sam.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Frank F. “Fat” Yost, 80, of 1632 W. Willow Street, Coal Township-Graveside service will be held Monday, March 14, 2022 at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Ted Yost officiating, at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Coal Township.
