Donna Crone

Coal Township – Donna Crone, 83, of Mountain View Manor, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Mountain View Manor, Coal Township.

Born in Shamokin on July 2, 1941 to the late Burt and Gladys (Dunkleberger) Crone. Donna graduated from Shamokin Area High School in 1959.

Donna graduated from Geisinger Nursing School in 1961. She began her career as a nurse at Danville State Hospital where she worked until her retirement. Donna loved history, especially that of the Civil War. After retirement Donna spent many years volunteering for many projects in Gettysburg. She also became a certified Town Guide for Gettysburg and was privileged to give tours to tourists wishing to know more about the local history of the Civil War. Donna developed an impressive knowledge of the battle at Gettysburg and was able to bring this history to life, whether presenting it to a large group or just a few people.

Donna is survived by several cousins. She was especially close to her cousins Lois

(Dunkleberger) and Dan Duttinger, and Sam and wife, Judy Dunkleberger, and the cousins’ children. Donna developed many friendships while working at Danville State Hospital and volunteering at Gettysburg. Donna touched the hearts of many. She will be greatly missed.

Donna Crone, 83, Mountain View Manor – Funeral Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
