Charles J Reed

Coal Township – Charles J. Reed, 95, of 1019 W Mulberry Street, passed away Friday, March 5, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Shamokin on August 3, 1925 he was the son of the late Walter and Mary Ellen (Crawford) Reed. He served in the Navy. He worked as a coal miner and then as an electrician for Revlon.

He married Evelyn J. Heitzman, who preceded him in death. He was a member of Grace Chapel.

Charles is survived by two sons, Kenneth Charles Reed and his wife, Linda of NJ and Charles J. Reed, Jr. and his wife, Jane of Liverpool; two daughters, Ellen Reed of Coal Township, and Donna Pellegrino and her husband, Anthony of NJ; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and two brothers, John Reed and his wife, Jan, and Lee Hietzman. Charles was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
