Charles G Kerstetter

Coal township – It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Charles G. Kerstetter, 78, of Coal Township, Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Broad Mountain Nursing Home, Frackville.

Born in Danville on July 6, 1944 to the late Alvin F. and Irene Kerstetter. He graduated from Trevorton High School in 1962 where he played football. Charlie was also inducted to the Bernie Romanoski Hall of Fame. Charlie also played the drums in a group called ‘Good Vibrations.’ Along with his many talents he was named ‘Anthratone of the Year.’ He owned and operated Kerstetter Home Improvements and later in life opened a business known as ‘CharlieChucks” Restaurant.

He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends but especially by his best friend Joe Berra, the Class of 1962 and Diane Kerstetter. Charlie was a kind and gentle man and was of the Christian Faith.

Charles is survived by three daughters, Tiffany Strobel and her husband, Christian of NH, Tara Bartasavich and her husband, David of NC, and Taimi Krick of Sunbury; three grandsons, Christian Strobel, Logan Krick, and Kyler Krick; two granddaughters, Kali Bartasavich, and Katelin Bartasavich; sister-in-law, Frances Kerstetter; and Kimiko “Susie” Kerstetter; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Kerstetter, and Thomas Kerstetter.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Charles G. Kerstetter, 78, Coal Township – Funeral services will be held Thursday, September ­­8, 2022 at 11:00 am at Farrow-C.J. Lucas Funeral and Cremation Service, 240 W Chestnut Street, Shamokin, Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor. Viewing will be held from 9:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Coal Township. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Maine Fire Company or the Shamokin Coal Township Library.
