Coal Township – Betty J. Ebright, 79, of 105 North 17th Street, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 2, 2018 in her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Coal Township on June 6, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Margaret (Ford) Sherry. She graduated from Coal Township High School in 1959.
On October 3, 1959 she married the late George F. Ebright in Emmanuel United Methodist Church. Betty was a dedicated, strong woman who spent most of her life working as a housewife. Betty volunteered at Emmanuel United Methodist Church as a Sunday School Teacher, PTA, RIF, and walked annually in the Relay For Life as a breast cancer survivor. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Betty was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend. She always welcomed company into a loving, welcoming home.
Betty is survived by three daughters; Bonny Mix and her husband Dale of Paxinos, Brenda Lebo of Coal Township, and Bernice Martin and her husband Curt of Coal Township; two grandsons, Kyle Lebo of Shamokin, and Ryan Lebo and his wife Amanda of Kulpmont; three granddaughters, Amber, Brianna, and Cherie Martin of Coal Township; three great-grandsons, Hunter, Braedyn, and Owen Lebo; one great-granddaughter, Adeline Lebo; one brother, Charles “Mick” Sherry of Harrisburg; sister-in-law Effie Ebright of Shamokin; Several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her special friend Donna Snyder of Coal Township; Along with her parents and husband she is preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Betty J. Ebright, 79, of 105 North 17th Street, Coal Township – Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:00 am in Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 328 Center Street, Coal Township, with Pastor Bonnie Alleman and Reverend Zachary Hopple, Officiating. Burial will be held at Odd Fellows cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held at Emmanuel United Methodist Church from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Arrangements are being cared for by Farrow-C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, 240 West Chestnut Street, Shamokin, Lori Ann Campbell, Supervisor.
