Beth Ann (Hoover) Derk

Coal Township – Beth Ann Derk, 67, of 1112 W Mulberry Street, passed away Monday, October 28, 2024 at Mount Carmel Nursing Home.

Born in Shamokin on July 21, 1957 to the late Blaine and Susan (Nairns) Hoover. She graduated from Shamokin Area High School in 1975.

On July 17, 1976, in Shamokin, she married, David Derk, who survives. Beth Ann was a dedicated Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, who loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Beth Ann was a caregiver to many of her family members. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting and gardening.

In addition to her husband, Beth Ann is survived by two daughters, Heather Derk of Coal Township, and Holly Barth and her husband, Matthew of East Cameron; three grandsons, David Derk, Jay Weikel, and Bjorn Barth; a granddaughter, Ava Weikel; two brothers-in-law, George Derk of Shamokin, and Carl Derk of West Cameron; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Beth Ann is preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Nancy (Kramer) Derk; and three brothers, Blaine Hoover and his wife, Betty Ann, Bill Hoover, and Barry Hoover.
