Coal Township – Allan L. Alspach, 86, of 1142 Center Street, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Mountain View Manor, Coal Township.

Born in Shamokin Hospital on September 10, 1935 he was the son of the late Elsi Alspach. He attended Shamokin Area Schools. He served in the United States Navy, from January 6, 1954 to September of 1958. After basic training at Bainbridge Maryland, Allan served aboard the USS Boston No.1 Guided Missile Cruiser. During the Korean War, He served on USS Iowa no. 61 Battleship.

He worked at the Ford Motor and Continental Can Co. in New Brunswick, NJ from 1960 to 1968. He operated ALS Place in Kulpmont from 1964 to 1971. He worked at Philcoford in Lansdale PA from 1971 until 1973. He retired from Conrail as a machinist.

On August 7, 1991 in Gatlinburg, he married Rose A. Seik, they spent 50 years together. He was a member of the Ukrainian Club in Springfield, life member Independence Fire Company of Shamokin, and Shamokin Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Allan was an avid traveler. He enjoyed sports, fishing, basketball, and he was a fan of Shamokin Area Sports, Phillies, Sixers, Flyers, and Eagles.

In addition to his wife, Allan is survived by two sons, Allan Alspach Jr, and his wife, Mary, and Ronald Alspach; a daughter, Brenda Newman and her husband, Bob; a step-daughter, Deborah Braid; a grandson, Derick Alspach; two granddaughters, Allison Alspach and Mellisa Alspach; one great grandson, Russell; and three great granddaughters, Alexis, Ava, and Keira; two brothers, George Kehoe and his wife, Betty Ann, and Thomas Kehoe and his wife, Marge; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his mother, Allan was preceded in death by his step-father, Nelson Kehoe; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo and Anna (Matey) Seik; a brother, William Kehoe; a brother-in-law, Robert Seik; and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Diehl.

FUNERAL NOTICE
